"Ladies and Gentlemen, Hobos and Tramps..."

I never did learn all of the words to that silly monologue my cousin used to recite when we were kids, but even now I can hear him begin his speech to the cross-eyed mosquitos and their assortment of friends. There are many wonderful memories on these digital pages. I suppose that makes one more.

I view this domain as a slight catch-22. I maintain it to keep my blog alive, and I continue blogging so I have a reason to play with webpages. It is a personal project, an outlet, and a place for growth, reflection and remembrance. Consider it a series of snapshots or slices of me, representative only of the moment stamped on the image or text.

I feel that last part is important because I have had people contact me saying, "I read your last post and you seem so down. Are you okay?" About 90% of the time this happens I am having a fantastic day and then have to find some way to convince them of that. I generally don't think much about what I have posted after I click the "Publish" button. In my case it would be more appropriate to label it "Dump" because that is what it really does. It puts my thoughts somewhere off to the side and clears space for new ones.

Visitors should keep the following in mind:

1. Introspection, which I am highly prone to, often carries with it a slight malaise. Acceptance of this is crucial to understanding my words as they are meant, not as they appear.
2. I will rarely refer to friends, co-workers, family members or acquaintences by name. This practice began in the 2004-2005 timeframe and it should not be assumed that anyone mentioned before then presently occupies the same role. In most cases they do not.
3. I do not discuss blog content off the site. Mention of a post over IM, in person, or on the phone will usually be dismissed. Email is slightly different. Comments, once they are re-enabled, will also be an acceptable option.
4. Unless explicitly stated, views expressed should not be considered representative of the official positions held by any organization I am affiliated with.
5. If you would like to link to this page I request two things. First, do not use my last name in the text or description. Second, let me know.
